Here at 100HHS we love southern hip hop! We could of listed 100's of hip hop songs in this category, it was the hardest for us the agree on there were many arguments in the crew over this one. The past 10 years has seen a massive increase in the sales of southern hip hop with countless top hip hop albums emerging from the legendary artists. Artist like UGK,Ludacris and Outkast were the first big names paving the way for industry giants like Swisha House and Cash Money records that really have shaped the face of hip hop as of late. Today we see Trap Music dominating hip hop with its rolling hats and big built up drops. Artists like Yo Gotti, young Jeezy, Gucci mane and Waka Flocka are at the forefront of trap music each one having had a top hip hop album in this category over the past 3 years. Also with its unique beat patterning its allowed producers to really create a signature sound and rocket there career. Apart from Dr Dre,Timbaland and and a few producers that spit as well as produce. A producers roll was in the background, didn't really get the credit they deserve but a lot of trap style producers have been in the spotlight a lot more recently with some even having there own albums and mix tapes ,Mike Will ,Dj Drama and Zaytoven to name a few. There's no doubt that in 2013 trap and southern music is a massive player in hip hop ,giants lil Wayne and T.i are dominating the Industry as of late and Tity boi (2 Chainz) got best album of 2012 at the Grammys. The album bleeds the south and really is a good example of what the south us about and how they lay that across to us. I've listed 10 top hip hop albums from the south that really represent the movement , like I said earlier it wasn't easy because of my love for the music but I think I've narrowed it down . Hip hop is evolving everyday and its evolving nowhere faster than the south so sit back roll one up and jam. Please comment if you feel I've missed any out .   Outkast- Speaker Box The masterminds behind the group Andre 3000 and Big Boi Released this masterpiece in 2003, double album became the best-selling top Hip Hop album of all time, and the best-selling album of 2003, selling eleven million copies in America. It contained the popular hits "Hey Ya!" and "The Way You Move," both of which went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.     Lil Wayne - Carter 2 This album had to get a mention. Lil Wayne is a controversial decision alot of hip hop fans contest that he hasn't got the talent he thinks he has and he seems to get alot of hate. Personally i think hes a very talented artist and this album stands testament to that. His flow stays locked all the way through and the lyrics are one of a kind. Definatley paved the way for Carter 3 which is his most successful album to date. Carter 2 was his 5th studio album and sold over 8,000,000 copies.   Under Ground Kings - Ridin Dirty This Album was the third album by UGK. Despite no music videos or official singles being used for advertising its their best selling album with nearly 1,000000 copies sold to date and 67,000 sold in the first week. UGK really opened the door for the South they helped is establish itself in Hip Hop Music.       Gucci Mane - Hood Classic Hood Classics is a compilation album released in 2008 by Atlanta Zone 6 rapper Gucci Mane. It charted number one in many other charts across america such as the top rap albums chart and many more. T.I has had a bumpy career with law enforcement etc. but there is no denying his musical talent is raw and unique. His talent plus sleek hip hop producing this album is definatley one of the top hip hop albums ever to emerge out of the south. Young Jeezy - The Recession Young Jeezy's third album, The Recession, was released on September 2, 2008 and would earn him his second consecutive number one album. It topped the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 260,000 copies and was certified Gold by the RIAA. "Put On" featuring Kanye West was the lead single and had reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also led to a Grammy Nomination for Best Rap performance by a duo, but came short.Jeezy has managed to stay current for a good while now he is the original thug motivator and a main pioneer for trap music. "Put On" was followed by "Vacation", "Crazy World", "My President" featuring Nas, and "Who Dat" to complete The Recession's singles. Young Jeezy appeared on "Love I this Club" by Usher and "Im so paid" by Akon. Z-Ro -Meth Texas Based Rapper Z-Ro is very underrated artist he has amazing free styling skills and also adds alot of sung lyrics into his work it achieves a sort of quality that only Nate dogg has ever mastered. This album really showcased his skills, he has the ability to just switch up his flow and fit what seems like a million words in a sentence. Definatley a top hip hop album. !!!!MUST SEE FREESTYLE!!!!
